impact on global health. About the Role The Huang Lab within
Gladstone’s Center for Translational Advancement (GCTA) is seeking
a Research Associate II to support a large-scale drug repurposing
initiative. This role is ideal for a motivated scientist interested
in gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge single-cell RNA
sequencing (scRNA-seq) technologies while contributing to
translational research efforts. The position offers structured
training, close mentorship from senior staff, and the opportunity
to play a key role in building and maintaining the Center’s drug
repurposing infrastructure. What You Will Do Receive hands-on
training in state-of-the-art single-cell RNA sequencing platforms
and workflows. Routinely perform single-cell RNA-seq assays
following established protocols, under the supervision of senior
laboratory personnel. Support large-scale experimental workflows
related to drug repurposing research. Generate and maintain quality
assurance (QA) reports, documenting assay performance, consistency,
and data quality. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary
team, contributing to shared research goals and infrastructure
development. Follow best practices for laboratory organization,
documentation, and experimental reproducibility. What You Will Need
A BS or MS degree in a biological science or related field
preferred 1 years of laboratory experience, particularly with
molecular biology assays. Prior experience working with RNA is
strongly preferred. Previous exposure to single-cell RNA sequencing
is a plus, but not required; training will be provided. Strong
organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work
effectively in a team environment. A high level of intrinsic
motivation and eagerness to learn new techniques and technologies.
