For more than 75 years our success has been a direct result of the talent, skills and persistence of our people, and we are looking for qualified candidates to join our team.What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Fund Administration and Oversight Sr. Lead Analyst?This in-office role will execute an established risk-based approach to completing assignments related to the broad complex of Franklin Templeton funds at the jurisdictional, regional, or global level. This entails understanding the fund administrators' control environment and the continuous development and implementation of an agreed-upon tactical fund administration oversight model. This also includes the ongoing development of digital tools to minimize risk and create efficiencies (including reviewing processes for efficiency and automation enhancements, which may include using automation tools to build/implement those enhancements). This role will be responsible for oversight of all outsourced fund administration activities (as part of the oversight team) and will include some analysis & review of annual and semiannual shareholder reports, and regulatory filings prepared by the third-party administrator for accuracy. This role will support management in resolving queries, providing training, and to ensure appropriate workflow planning is completed.Key Responsibilities* Risk Management:Leads the utilization and creation/improvement of a risk-based approach in overseeing the processes and controls in place at the third-party administrators and custodians. Maintain a documented RCSA (Risk and control self-assessment) and impact assessment framework for identifying oversight tasks and frequency. This may include reviewing work completed by members of the oversight team and/or other groups within Franklin Templeton and/or the third-party administrators with regards to ensuring the outcomes of outsourced services are achieved within accepted risk thresholds.* Change Management / Stakeholder Support:Provides a centralized customer service function to key stakeholders /clients (e.g., fund/portfolio managers, product, sales and marketing, performance and risk, internal and external fund boards and/or audit committees). Acts as oversight and co-ordination on all key change initiatives that impact the services of outsourced service providers. Answers ad hoc queries and works with managers on special client assignments and regulatory changes (e.g., additional client reporting for regulator or board materials). Acts as key point of contact with other SIMs (Specialized Investment Managers), where applicable, and business units to provide client service support.* Problem Solving and Reporting:Leads third-party administrators in planning and coordinating production of reporting to ensure that regulatory and stakeholder/client deadlines are met. Liaises with third-party administrators to resolve complex issues identified in performing oversight tasks; escalates any areas of concern to managers (and is expected to provide potential solutions).* Process Improvement:Proactively identifies potential improvements and automation opportunities in work processes supporting the oversight model. Researches, identifies, and implements digital tools to minimize risk and create efficiencies related to fund administration and oversight tasks. Participates in departmental/divisional projects, taking the lead on less complex work or participating in wider, more complex, initiatives. These could include new product launches, regulatory initiatives, and interdepartmental projects.* Research and Analysis:Researches and analyzes various accounting disclosure requirements for new complex accounting pronouncements and product types and assists in developing new disclosure procedures and memos (for financial reporting and NAV oversight).* Audit Process Oversight:Organizes various key aspects of the year-end audit process; works with external auditors to resolve any fund-related issues. Coordinates with stakeholders to prepare for the audit; responds to inquiries and bridges the communication gap between external auditors, third-party administrator, and internal groups. Supports the manager regarding strategic or critical audit issues.What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience,
  • Asset Management industry experience desired
  • experience working and implementing use cases through digital tools such as Xceptor, Alteryx and/or Power BI
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation.
