Description:
The Human Resources Specialist maintains and enhances the
organization's HR by evaluating and upholding resources, policies,
programs, and practices. The HR Specialist shall work in
conjunction with the HR Leadership to ensure responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records,
and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees
relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.;
refers more complex questions to appropriate company
representative.
Contributes to the successful achievement of the organizations
mission and strategic initiatives by providing leadership,
oversight, evaluation and direction for the general administrative
and Human Resources services and programs of the organization
through planning, organizing, and directing the various
functions.
Participates in all functions related to human resources, including
but not limited to, employee records, compensation, benefits,
recruitment, retention, evaluations, payroll, employee health and
safety, education and training, temporary staffing, and externship
programs.
Works collaboratively with members of the HR team to assure
achievement of annual business and strategic goals, and
objectives.
Responsible for the accuracy of the Human Resources Information
System (HRIS) and compliance with documentation standards for
employee records.
Assists the HR Manager with the employee benefits programs, LOA,
Injury/Illness, and FMLA processes, including negotiation of
benefits, contracts and correspondence with benefit broker and
carriers.
Assists the HR Manager in employee engagement, recruitment and
retention programs and processes, including offers of employment,
on-boarding, Employment Agreements, and Affirmative Action.
Responsible for the oversight of the recruitment and/or placement
of temporary and permanent staff.
Responsible for oversight in occupational health services and
compliance with documentation standards for employee health
requirements, including but not limited to immunizations,
vaccinations, and testing (e.g., Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, Flu,
etc.).
Responsible for the oversight of unemployment related claims.

Education and minimum qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor's Degree in HR or in applicable filed
Three years of working in the HR field
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to coordinate with other professionals with diverse
backgrounds
Knowledge with human resources, Federal/State/ Local laws
preferred
Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
Outlook, Access).
Familiar with HIPPA/client confidentiality and personal rights
