Job Description Job Description OPBH Primary Therapist - Full
Time Clinical Ladder Eligible The Behavioral Health Therapist for
the Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic provides quality and
organized psychotherapy (individual, group and family) and social
services for identified clients and families, with special emphasis
on treatment and discharge planning needs. This position maintains
accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and
standards regarding the provision of behavioral health services,
and implementation of treatment and discharge planning. The BH
Therapist assures the quality provision of services,
collection/maintenance of data, and discharge planning/aftercare
are all according to CVH policies and procedures. This position
will also demonstrate professional/ethical behavior and support the
philosophy of the Behavioral Health department, as well as CVH at
all times. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Master's
degree in a mental Health field from an accredited graduate school
or a degree that supports an alternative acceptable licensure.
License Required: CPC, LMFT, LCSW full unrestricted licensure
acceptable for Master’s-level clinicians. Certificate Required: BLS
Certification (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire).
Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or able to obtain
within 90-days of hire). Credential Required: Ability to be
credentialed with all CVH payors within six (6) months of hire.
Minimum Work Experience: Three (3) years of clinical experience
providing individual, group and family therapy, including crisis
intervention/management. Outpatient clinic and/or IOP experience
preferred. Must meet any applicable state certification standards.
Demonstrated skills in the areas of de-escalation, negotiation,
communication (verbal and written), conflict resolution,
interdisciplinary collaboration, care/case management, creative
problem solving, and critical thinking. Knowledge of community
mental health resources, knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid practices
and insurance requirements as these relate to continuing care.
Knowledge of outpatient behavioral health services, including
community and organizational resources, and client care process.
Knowledge of medications commonly used in mental health and
familiarity with medical terminology and conditions as these impact
treatment and discharge needs. Basic knowledge of quality
improvement/utilization management relating to third-party payers.
Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, client relations,
analytical, grammar/spelling, reading/comprehension of written
instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer
skills. Knowledge of effective individual and team communication
techniques. Knowledge of corporate compliance practices. POSITION
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Client Care Assess clients to develop
individualized plan for care, provide treatment, evaluate the
effectiveness of treatment, and facilitate discharge
planning/aftercare. Gather information from various sources to
monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of client’s individualized
plan related to their condition(s), presentation/participation
within the program, and reaching outcomes and goals. Manage time
and caseload effectively. Completes all paperwork in a timely
manner. Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, ensure
confidentiality is maintained, and adhere to all local, state, and
federal privacy laws related to the practice of mental health and
substance abuse. Conduct support groups (both internal and
external) as requested. Conduct patient testing and assessment as
determined appropriate by clinic management in accordance with
skills and training (Doctorate-level clinicians only). Collaborate
with other healthcare professionals to evaluate the medical,
mental, emotional, and physical conditions of clients.
Education/Regulations Participate in regular treatment team
meetings and clinical supervision. Maintain required Continuing
Education (CEU) connected to state license. Represent the program
at educational meetings as requested by management. Work
cooperatively with management to ensure that all relevant local,
state, and federal regulations and standards are met, including
state licensure requirements. BENEFITS: If you are scheduled to
